A terrestrial world orbited by three moons, Bothawui possessed a breathable atmosphere, standard gravity, a temperate climate, and a moderate hydrosphere. Bothawui was a bright blue-green in color and its terrain included urban areas, rich equatorial forests, large polar ice caps, many rugged mountain ranges, and grassy savannas that spanned the areas between rocky glacier fields. Bothawui's mountains and ridges were separated by deep, wide valleys that were inhabited by dangerous wildlife.
Bothawui home of the Bothan peoples and a heart of information trafficking was hit by the mysterious illness plaguing the universe like a ton of bricks crashing on a moped. The influx of shady characters on and off the planet ensured that sad fact. Damage from the disease had yet to be fully realized
I don't remember much of what led to the procedure at the Medical center that gained reknown for hosting the "Academy of healers"
I can remember the shuttle landing in what could be best described as an ambulance bay. I was transferred from the restraints on a table, to a stretcher. The people I could see looking down on me swapped from my two traveling companions to multiple doctors including an anesthesiologist explaining the procedure that I was about to undergo.
Shortly thereafter (to me at least you are never fully aware of the passage of time when you sleep) I woke to a mute droid standing over me, watching me… scanning me. When it had detected that I had returned to the land of the living, it grabbed an attending nurse. The nurse explained some things like the procedure was a success… and some other nonsense that whatever haze the anesthesia kept me in could not keep me cognizant for. I started to fade off again as a Lens was placed over my eyes resting on my ears.
My last thought was how similar the droid was emoting to me.
When I came to, the first thing I noticed was that I was no longer in the bed… I was sitting next to the bed, my head in my hands. I felt resistance and pain as I attempted to sit up… more so when I tried shifting to a standing position. After two attempts I finally got the body to work with me and with a great deal of effort and pain I finally made it to my feet. My attempt to make it to a nearby table could be compared to old Vaudeville acts, tripping and losing balance along the way.
Fortunately, the nurse on duty came to my aid. “There we go Good to see you are up Master Tuhlute. And it might interest you to know you are among the top percentage of patients who undergo the procedure from initial anesthesia to being upright. How do you feel?” There was a murmur in the room before I made a coughing noise and spoke up.
“I am… fine, still getting used to …. The controls. Sorry, is that my voice? It sounds incredibly tinny.”
“You don’t sound too far off the mark… but I can show you where the interference could be coming from, and how to correct it.”
She handed me a cane to steady myself against as I got used to the nature of my condition. I took a few steps over to a bed that was covered completely from my vision by a thin hospital blanket
“What is going to happen to this…?”
“There is a storage space that we tend to use for people that opt for this procedure. We take care and help them heal while they continue their day-to-day. It isn’t cheap… but considering you are Jedi, as well as your lineage, we will make sure you are well taken care of.”
I smiled at the offer. part of me didn't want to impose too much by having my medical bills just be waved away by who i was... but on the other hand part of me found this nurse positively ALLURING and did not want to do anything to upset her.
“Now the friends that you arrived with will be leaving soon, they wanted to wait until you were up and about before they said goodbye. They have already been in contact with a Master Samuel A. Avery, who will be arriving to help you back home in about three days, I would like to use as much of that time as possible for physical therapy to get you accustomed to this situation.” I nodded as I trudged out of the recovery room behind the nurse… my eyes lingering a little lower than the back of her head.
To begin… I dunno how to describe the dysforia I feel in this new situation. the nurse says it is completely natural and that theory lessons on what is going on will help prepare me to best utilize this situation.
morning was occupied with Theory lessons. Some of it was cut and dry like the limitations of the force powers as I heal… (for the record, I still have command of powers the fall into the observation category, but nothing in the category of anything else. my doodles on notes was on possible ways to circumvent the nature of this limitation) the rest of it got very theoretical. (how to manipulate your subconscious brain into sending the processes you need it to run)
The afternoon was spent in actual physical therapy. mostly along the lines of wade a straight line in this pool, or use the arm guard to take steps down the hallway… I really feel like I can progress beyond this
The evening I spent resting back in the hospital bed. the nurse was kind enough to help me eat, she is wonderful enough. I do hope she is the one that will keep an eye on me while I heal it.
They told me that resting meditation will help speed up the healing process… I wouldn’t mind it if I came back to see her smiling face
officially, I am out of the theory class room and exclusively working on application. spent the day in the physical training room working on control. what was simple walking across a pool yesterday is Double dutch, gymnastics and weights. (skills I can’t claim from before the crash, but now seem second nature)
Afternoon and evening I was permitted to practice some of the resting meditation… although it did not come without complications. about two hours after I was permitted to rest multiple doctors as well as the nurse came to my bedside and served as aides as I was briefed by the Commanding officer of the Lux Aeterna as well as by Master Avery as to the battle plan. Apparently the call to action had been sent to the Delicia with specific instructions for me, but when I didn’t respond the message was sent to Master Avery instead. As I understand it, the game plan is that My involment won't in the actual combat theatre, but instead i will lead and cover the escort teams to evac the Civilians so that the combat minded will not have to worry about innocents lives as collateral damage.
All this was well and good until the doctors revealed that as part of this plan, I would be running constantly for somewhere between 48-96 hours before I was permitted to rest. and although assurances were made that I would have IVs that would have certain drugs that could prolong my clarity and adrenaline, I still was anxious… but then i felt the nurse squeeze my hand and whisper something that I blush even to reference here… and that is what tipped me over to agreeing to the plan.
I came to around 0800 in my hospital bed… I knew what today was. The Lux Aeterna had finally arrived and I was meant to shift to active duty mode. For the three day I will be allowed to rest, and then upon reaching the orbit of Honoghr, I would be active… a scary thought for me as I will be focusing all my attention on the mission and not on the possibly deteriorating state of my body…
“What are you doing?” I looked up to see her standing over me again… my nightingale angel.
“Hello nurse, I was just… narrating?”
“You can’t fool me Kairi. You were overanalyzing everything… again.”
“Guilty as charged.”
I feigned a sense of regret and she in turn faked her anger... or so i thought.
“Have I not told you this enough times already?… I will be here when you are ready to rest. We will make sure that your extended time needed doesn’t increase the strain on your body…”
“Thanks nurse…”
I believed that whatever anger she held had been released as she let out a giggle and messed with my hair a bit
“Now come on, get up… time to make yourself ready. The Lux Aeterna just stabilized into orbit, the shuttle will be here in roughly 30 minutes.”
With that I nodded and the nurse hit a couple commands on my X-trace. I felt my vision narrow until I could see a pin prick in a field of black. I was willing myself AWAKE.

When I fully became aware of myself I was walking down the corridor to the blast door securing the hangar. In my ear Codex was chattering away keeping me up to date. First off we “Got dressed” with the experimental CLOWDS armor that had been tucked on board. This was used a new driver known as the W-arc requiring an AAI companion as the “Soul” of the armor while the user controlled the body part. There were about 7 different gears I could create parings from
Fang - Wild form. Whatever it was pared with goes into a Berserker state… high risk, high reward Rocket - Soul form. Best paired with knighT for a high-density low thickness flight armor/accelerated motion knighT - Body form. Utilizes non-weapon based combat Lightning - Soul form. Best paired with triggeR. Amplifies force powers, can manipulate Trajectory of blasts triggeR - body form. Best utilizes blasters as HUD gives a pinpoint scope regardless of where the blaster is pointed Diamond - Soul form. Best paired with metaL. Data unknown metaL - Body form. Best utilizes light sabers. I stood outside the door waiting to hear the approaching engines. I realized the armor was uninitialized, so I spoke only to myself “Resh-Trill” and the glow of the W-arc against the blast door went from a pale glow to an outer ring of orange paired with a core of Palatinate (an almost blackish purple) the armor itself condensed itself from that of a bulky commando’s armor to the lightweight ARF or pilot’s flight suit armor. Thinking once more I added the request “Helmet off” and the helm withdrew as if I was dealing nanomech pulling the matter of the helmet from covering my head to form a backpack.
Confident I walked through the door. Fortunately I did so as the shuttle (A nu-class cargo variant) was powering down her engines. Imagine my surprise, as the pilots were the Commanding officer of the Lux Aeterna, a woman by the name of Rianni Janeway, as well as a Proxy holodroid that as we approached took the form of Grandmaster Avery.
:: How do two droids say hello? Asking for a friend::
Ignoring the voice of Codex in my ear, I continued to close the gap between the three of us. When we were within arms length of one another, the Commander Saluted while Samuel bowed…. feeling more comfortable I returned the bow.
“It is good to finally meet you in the flesh Commander Tuhlute.” ::I Can count two things wrong with that::
“Hush Codex… Commander? I didn’t think I had any rank with the Republic in the same state of disarray as the Jedi… still it is good to see you both Captain, Grandmaster”
“First off, I request you call me Master as realistically that is the only title I can claim. Grandmaster… though it was a title I had earned, it was a different time and universe as you know. I only flaunted it to lend credence to my call of unification. Sorry I cannot be there, I am at a central location as there is a situation on Caridia that may require reinforcements to be sent out, and the KSEC base is the closest one to the planet.”
“Understood… so the battle plan is I will lead a squad of these bad girls on multiple evac runs, getting civilians out of harms way… do I have that correct?”
“If you would wish sir, however, the grandmaster has been working on a pet project under the thumb of one of your friends”
“Rianna… it’s true Noel, your R-naught unit decided to be very persuasive and as a result, I attempted a rebuild of the starfighter you left on Naboo. The engines you were using were similar to an experimental Scram jet unit I had been testing… also, since I don’t think the purpose of this one will be to shatter into realities; I designed it a bit bulkier. The app to control it should have been beamed into your control by now.” I looked at the X-trace interface on my gauntlet and sure enough, the real estate in the lower right corner of the screen was the profile of a starfighter that looked bigger than my previous one. I tapped the icon and I heard engines start up running past the two I saw my precious R-naught unit in the astromech unit of a starfighter that was uniquely mine
“Well then what are we waiting for? Let’s get these birds Starbound. ‘Met on!”
My helmet rematerialized around my head as I raced to the pod of the starfighter. Although the shuttle was following behind me, I could not help but test out the limits of the Starfighter’s capabilities en route to the Lux Aeterna.
